Landscape: After a summer in Scotland, I noticed that all my photographs (and post cards) of large scale landscape looked the same (and were all beautiful). I took a small number of colors (two yellows, one red, two blues and burnt umbra) and arranged them with a pallet knife in zones from my abstracted view of "landscape" (resulting in 88). Next, in another canvas, I further abstracted by layering these same colors horizontally and then scraped it (resulting in 89). Finally, I spread the color that I had scraped from the previous on two smaller canvases (90 and 91), fully reorganizing and further mixing the scraped paint as it was spread.
